Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look inside the Colorado School of Mines
The Colorado School of Mines is known as the state’s premier engineering and applied science university. It is recognized as an R1 Institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and is a global leader in research with a mission to enhance understanding of the earth, energy, and the environment.
Colorado School of Mines has an impressive list of unique research facilities that enable students and staff to perform pioneering research and drive innovation. The Alliance for the Development of Additive Processing Technologies (ADAPT) is one such facility, which houses cutting-edge additive manufacturing, characterization, and testing equipment. Another example is the Ultrafast Science Research Lab, a state-of-the-art facility where researchers develop ultra-optical technology and use it to advance microscopes for fields that include biology to advanced manufacturing. The facility features a broad array of laser systems, from high-repetition-rate oscillators to ultrafast amplifiers. The lab has a complete array of diagnostics and three home-built multi-photon microscope systems with complete scanning and imaging capability.
Participants of the lab tour will see firsthand the interdisciplinary research conducted at School of Mines, the vast array of modern equipment that enables this work, and how researchers collaborate with industry, government, and other academic labs to help solve real-world problems.
